The Institute of Classical Oriental Medicine was founded in 1995. Our purpose is to provide a source of practical, skill based training for those practitioners and students of Traditional Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Herbalism, who wish to further develop their clinical skills. Access to clinics for those wishing to
learn through observation, an invaluable learning tool that
consolidates the possibilities and reaffirms the efficacy of
Traditional Medicine is of the utmost priority. Educational video's,
informative articles, clinical observation, workshops and a soon to be
published translation of a clinical manual by Ikeda sensei and
networking forms the core of our service and consolidates our aim of
ensuring not only the survival but the proliferation of Traditional
Style Acupuncture, Moxibustion and herbalism. It is one thing to think that something is functional; it is an entirely different reality when we know it! ICOM, JAMSF, the Japanese Meridian Therapy Association, Kampo Yin Yang Society, all of these groups are controlled and directed by practitioners for practitioners. We are not academics, administrators or politicians; our vested interest is in the evolution and expansion of Traditional Acupuncture and Moxibustion for the ultimate benefit of mankind. |
